Special Christmas POOL PARTY...

This year we had a very special Christmas party ....a POOL PARTY. Thank you Anna and Judy for hosting us. The kids (and staff/adults!!) had a very fun day.

Hurray!!! It's here again --- the great seasonal play by the International Players of Accra. The kids were once again invited to see the dress rehearsal of "Beauty and the Beast". It was very exciting and there was lots of laughter.

THANK YOU Lycee Francais Jacques Pervert...

A very big THANK YOU to Lycee Francais Jacques Pervert for your support. Special thanks goes to class 5B for initiating the idea of donating food supplies and collecting and sorting the items. We appreciate the contributions from the students, their families and the staff. We are overwhelmed by your generosity. We are most grateful!

Excursion to Shai Hills Resource Reserved...

Last Friday was full of excitement as we had an excursion to Shai Hills
Resource Reserved - just outside Accra. Our trip was adventurous as the children not only saw animals, such as, antelopes, baboons, green monkeys, ostrich, zebras, and bats but also had to climb (using ropes because of the smooth rock surfaces) the Mogo and Sayo hills. Our knowledgeable guide gave us a history lesson of the area.

To get to the top, you need to climb holding a rope since the rocks are smooth.

Rope climbing is FUN!!!

Don't look down....

Serious!

The little ones made it... phew.... it was hard work.

The rocks are smooth.... 'easy to slip down.

Tree hugging.

The group.

Scrambling....

Swinging around!

Happily designing ''Thank you'' and Christmas cards!

Beacon House children busily and happily displaying their creative skills by designing "thank you" and Christmas cards to appreciate their God given donors. They are very thankful and grateful for all the kind gifts and your wonderful thoughts.

Happy to see our chicken with 8 guinea fowl chicks!

We have had 'challenges' in the animal husbandry department ... our rabbits died and our dog ate our newborn goat so we were excited to see that from our chicken that sat on 12 guinea fowl eggs for almost a month we now have 8 guinea fowl chicks - yeah! We are learning and hope to see more guinea fowl chicks as we have more chickens on more eggs. All free-range, all doing well.

Congratulations to our children!

Congratulations to our children Sandra, James and Benjamin for winning prizes at prize giving day at Seduase Basic School complex.
Sandra was awarded for her excellence in academic performance, Benjamin won the well behaved student, and James was awarded as the best reading student. You have made Beacon House proud!
